An American journalist was accidentally included in a group chat in which senior officials in Donald Trump's government discussed conducting airstrikes on Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis. The journalist, Jeffrey Goldberg, revealed that he knew about the attack before it happened. The group chat included US vice president JD Vance, defence secretary Pete Hegseth, national security adviser Mike Waltz, and director of national intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. The messages in the group chat revealed discussions about the timing and messaging of the airstrikes, as well as criticism of European navies and their limited capabilities.
