US authorities have detained a Turkish student studying at Tufts University and revoked her visa. The student, Rumeysa Ozturk, was taken into custody near her home in Massachusetts. A judge has ordered US immigration and customs enforcement to not move Ozturk out of the state without notice and to keep her there for at least 48 hours. Ozturk is a Fulbright Scholar and student in Tufts' doctoral programme for child study and human development.
