A Palestinian student named Sarraj Alsersawi achieved top marks in electronic and computer technology at Dublin City University (DCU) despite the conflict in Gaza. He arrived in Dublin in 2023 as part of the Ireland-Palestine Scholarship Programme and faced challenges such as losing contact with his family due to the blackout of internet and communications. Despite the difficulties, Alsersawi excelled in his studies and received first-class honours in his final exams. He has secured a job with multinational company Stryker and is passionate about using his qualifications to improve people's quality of life. Alsersawi also plans to return to Gaza to help rebuild the community.
