Green Day, the famous American rock band, originally started out with the name Blood Rage and later renamed themselves Sweet Children. In 1989, they settled on the name Green Day, which was slang in the Bay Area for spending a day smoking marijuana. The band has since released over 10 studio albums and is currently on The Saviors Tour.
