A Cornell University student targeted by the Trump administration has chosen to leave the US due to concerns for personal safety and freedom of expression. The student, Mr Taal, was suspended twice by Cornell for protest activities and is at least the second international student to be targeted for removal by the US Department of Homeland Security. The Trump administration has identified these cases as 'self-deportations'. The crackdown on international students involved in protests against Israel is part of the administration's efforts to combat what it classifies as antisemitism.
