The Mothers Against Genocide group plans to file a complaint over allegations that women arrested at a Gaza protest in Dublin were strip searched and subjected to a cavity search. Amnesty International has also expressed concern over the response to the demonstration, stating that it could have a chilling effect on the right to protest in Ireland. People Before Profit TD Richard Boyd Barrett read out a message from one of the arrested women, describing the strip search as 'absolutely disgusting'. The allegations have been condemned by Sinn Fein TD Ruairi O Murchu, and Taoiseach Micheal Martin has promised to follow up on the claims.
