The US Supreme Court is set to rule on the constitutionality of the Promoting Security and Justice for Victims of Terrorism Act (PSJVTA), which could allow terror victims to sue the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority in US courts. The PSJVTA is aimed at holding the PLO-PA accountable for their 'Pay-for-Slay' policy, which rewards terrorists and their families with cash payments. The law was passed in response to the 1985 murder of Leon Klinghoffer and allows American citizens who are victims of terrorist attacks abroad to sue the perpetrators in US courts. If the Supreme Court affirms the constitutionality of the PSJVTA, it could result in significant judgments against the PLO-PA.
