Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that Qatar bribed the Shin Bet by bringing agency chief Ronen Bar to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Netanyahu also accused investigators of berating his aide, Yonathan Urich, to ultimately get to him. The Shin Bet responded to the allegations, stating that Bar and Mossad chief Ronen Barnea visited Qatar for a 'professional work trip' to monitor activities and protect Israelis from terrorist threats. Police have extended the detention of two Netanyahu aides, Urich and Eli Feldstein. Netanyahu also rescinded his initial choice for agency chief.
