Surprise nation emerges as front-runner to host 2035 Rugby World Cup

Spain has emerged as the front-runner to host the 2035 Rugby World Cup, with plans to use the Bernabeu and Nou Camp stadiums. World Rugby is looking to bring the competition back to Europe after the next two tournaments in Australia and the USA. Other interested parties include Japan, Italy, and the Middle East. Spain has been identified as a growth market for rugby and is expected to have a competitive team ready for the 2027 competition. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE are also interested in making a joint bid, but may not be able to develop a competitive team within the next 10 years.
