The US has been attempting to decimate the Houthi terror group since the end of the Biden administration, but has been unable to prevent the group from threatening Western ships and disrupting global shipping. Despite the use of military force, the operation to secure Red Sea shipping lanes has failed, with the volume of traffic through the Suez Canal remaining 50% lower than pre-November 2023 rates.
