Iran funded an assassination attempt against Azerbaijan Jewish leader, Rabbi Shneor Segal, with the help of a Georgian drug trafficker. The plot was foiled by the State Security Service of Azerbaijan, and two individuals were arrested and charged with conspiring to commit a terrorist act. Rabbi Segal was unaware of the plot and expressed his confidence in the safe environment in Azerbaijan.
