Israeli national Yaniv Benaim, also known as Atala, has been arrested by Goa police for possessing illegal narcotic substances worth Rs 8.7 lakh. The anti-narcotic cell conducted a search and found 50gms of cocaine and 110gms of charas in Atala's possession. Atala, who has been staying in Goa since 2006, was previously arrested in 2010 in a police-politician-drug mafia nexus case. The CBI dropped charges against him in 2015, but the ANC is now verifying his documents and involvement in other businesses.
