More than a third of UK adults are unable to identify symptoms of bowel cancer, according to a YouGov survey. Only 22% of people mentioned changes to bowel habits, 12% recognized bleeding from the bottom, and 47% mentioned blood in poo as a symptom. Bowel cancer is the UK's second deadliest form of cancer, claiming 16,800 lives a year. Experts say that stigma about symptoms is a common problem, preventing early diagnosis and treatment.
