Iran's foreign ministry has stated that upcoming talks with the United States will be focused solely on the nuclear issue and lifting of sanctions, and will remain 'indirect' with Omani mediation. The talks, which took place on Saturday, marked the highest-level Iran-US nuclear negotiations since the collapse of the 2015 accord. Iran has maintained that it will only discuss its nuclear program, while the US had been expected to push for discussions on Iran's ballistic missile program and support for militant groups opposed to Israel. Another round of talks is scheduled for April 19.
