An Israeli airstrike heavily damaged one of Gaza's few functioning hospitals, targeting a Hamas 'command and control centre' operating from within the facility. The strike caused no casualties but came after Israeli forces seized a key corridor in the territory and as the United Nations warned of rapidly depleting medical supplies in Gaza. The hospital, known as Al-Ahli Hospital, suffered significant damage to its surgery building and oxygen generation station. Hospitals in Gaza have repeatedly been hit by Israeli strikes since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas in 2023.
