Adam Boehler, US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy for Hostage Response, has urged Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to free Israeli-Russian researcher Elizabeth Tsurkov, who has been held captive by Kata'ib Hezbollah for nearly two years. Boehler expressed disappointment in the Prime Minister's lack of action and called for immediate change. Tsurkov, a doctoral student at Princeton University, has been missing since March 2023. There are reports that she may be released soon in exchange for the release of eight Hezbollah terrorists by Israel.
