The International Criminal Court (ICC) has demanded Hungary to explain why it did not detain Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his recent visit, despite an active arrest warrant. The ICC issued the warrant for Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in November 2024 for alleged crimes against humanity in Gaza. Hungary had previously announced its withdrawal from the ICC and disavowed the Treaty of Rome. Other European countries have differing interpretations on how to handle the ICC warrants.
