Archaeologists in Stuttgart have discovered over 100 horse skeletons dating back to Roman times, potentially revealing the largest ancient horse cemetery in southern Germany. The find could provide new insights into the use of horses in the Roman army. The horses were buried near a former Roman fort and can be assigned to the cavalry unit called the Ala. Investigations will provide information on the horses' sex, age, size, and cause of death.
