The Trump administration has ordered social media vetting for all U.S. visa applicants who have been to the Gaza Strip, as part of an effort to tighten screening of foreign travelers. The vetting will include non-governmental organization workers and individuals who have been in the Palestinian enclave in an official or diplomatic capacity. If potential derogatory information is found, a security advisory opinion must be submitted. The administration has already revoked hundreds of visas, including those of student visa holders who have supported Palestinians and criticized Israel's conduct in the war in Gaza.
