Israel's Nature and Parks Authority has rescued three additional vervet monkeys, bringing the total to 35 since the wave of captures began last month. One monkey was found in Lod, one in Rishon Lezion, and one in Nof HaGalil. The monkeys were suffering from various conditions and have been transferred to the Israeli Primate Sanctuary for medical treatment. The private possession of protected wildlife species, including vervet monkeys, is illegal and considered a serious offense in Israel.
