Royals across Europe and beyond will be expected to attend his funeral on Saturday at St Peter's Square - with King Phillipe and Queen Mathilde the first confirmed to attend. Europe was quick to issue statements following the death of the beloved Pope, with royals including Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain and Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands all sending their condolences.
