Walter Frankenstein, a Holocaust survivor who hid in Berlin with his family, has died at the age of 100. Frankenstein, born in 1924, witnessed Kristallnacht and went into hiding with his wife and infant children in 1943. After the war, the family immigrated to Palestine and later settled in Sweden. Frankenstein returned to Germany frequently to educate young people about his experiences and received Germany's highest honor, the Order of Merit, in 2014.
