Lebanon receives $250 million World Bank loan to ease power problems

The World Bank has granted Lebanon a $250 million loan to help alleviate power cuts worsened by the war between Israel and Hezbollah. Lebanon has been struggling with a shortage of imported fuel and poor infrastructure for years. The country is in need of around $11 billion for reconstruction and recovery. Lebanon has received preliminary approval to increase the World Bank loan to $400 million as part of a $1 billion reconstruction program.
