Former Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon welcomed the complete release of Jonathan Pollard tonight.
“During the five years I served as Israel’s ambassador to the UN, I had a number of opportunities to visit Jonathan and his wife Esther who lived near the Israeli mission to the UN. Every time I saw them walking on Second Avenue, I wanted to greet and hug Jonathan Pollard. Until yesterday this was not part of his “conditions of release,” as he was forbidden to approach any Israeli delegation or be in contact with an Israeli diplomat. Yesterday, after too many years, the restrictions were lifted,” he said.
“Jonathan Pollard, millions of Israelis are waiting for you in the Land of Israel and this time you will receive a warm hug from all the people of Israel. Have a good week, Jonathan! We’re awaiting your arrival!,” he tweeted.
