Speaking on Reshet Bet this morning, Diaspora Affairs Minister Nachman Shai addressed the political storm surrounding Sunday’s meeting between Defense Minister Benny Gantz and PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas.
“The current government includes people with very different outlooks on how to deal with this issue, and I’m confident that we’ll find a solution,” Shai said. “I have no expectations that a diplomatic process will be launched, but I don’t want the issue to be buried entirely either. This discussion was the minimum that was necessary. After all, 400,000 Israelis live among them,” he added, referring to Jews who live over the Green Line.
