Haredi radio host Menachem Tucker believes that if Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu does not succeed in forming a right-wing government, the haredim should join a coalition with the anti-Netanyahu bloc, to influence policy from within.
“Despite the fact that I have been an admirer of Netanyahu since the 90s, if he does not succeed in forming [a government], I believe the haredim need to form a government with [Yesh Atid Chairman MK] Yair Lapid,” Tucker said. “He is a leader, he has proven that the hate is behind him. This is how we bring people closer and protect important interests. There are 16 [seats held by] haredim, and just 7 for Evet (MK Avigdor Liberman – ed.)! Yes, in my opinion there are tens of thousands of haredim who support this and would be happy for a new era.”
