Health clinics told to prepare for first COVID shots by end of December

The Yisrael Hayom newspaper is reporting that the country’s health clinics have been told to prepare to begin administering the first doses of coronavirus vaccine as early as the end of December.

It appears that the shots will be given at vaccination centers which will be established specifically for this purpose, and not at every single clinic. This is due to the fact that the Pfizer vaccine needs to be transported and stored (other than for a very few days) at a temperature of minus 70 Celsius, presenting the country with a significant logistical challenge in transporting and delivering the vaccines.
