Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely cited Britain on Sunday as “one of the pioneers who lead an aggressive line on the subject of conditioning financing of the Palestinian Authority on the stopping of incitement in the Palestinian education system.”
During a meeting with visiting British Development Minister Rory Stewart, Hotovely added that Israel is interested in the growth of a new generation on the other side that will be educated on the values of accepting the existence of the state of Israel, saying, “The problem is in the Palestinian narrative, in which, as far as they are concerned, Israel and the Jews have no right to exist. We see it in textbooks, television programs, and on the Internet. As one of the donors to the Palestinian Authority, Britain has the influence and the ability to increase supervision on the curriculum.”
