Interior Ministry ordered not to deal with family reunification requests

Officials in the Interior Ministry have been instructed not to deal with any family reunification requests made on the part of Israeli Arabs, a report on Galei Tzahal claims.

Last week, a Knesset vote on the Citizenship Law resulted in failure on the part of the government to extend legislation barring Israeli Arabs from claiming citizenship or permanent residency for their PA-Arab spouses, unless exceptions are made. However, Interior Ministry officials are apparently stalling on the issue, waiting to see if Minister Ayelet Shaked intends to bring the Law to another Knesset vote in the near future.
