Israel to apply pricing for carbon monoxide emitted from fuels

The government announced today that the carbon dioxide emitted from fuels and other emission sources will be priced for the first time to embody the economic-environmental damage of greenhouse gas emissions.

Minister of Environmental Protection Tamar Zandberg said that “the climate crisis is a global risk in an order of magnitude unknown to humanity. Only in recent weeks have we witnessed the huge fires and unprecedented heat waves that hit North America and the devastating floods in Europe that killed hundreds and led to billions of euros in damages.”
