Ministry official: No need to evacuate Israelis from Kazakhstan

Gary Koren, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister for Euro-Asia, referred to the riots in Kazakhstan in an interview with Galei Tzahal.
“After a conversation with the interim supervisor of our embassy in Kazakhstan, it appears that the authorities are taking over the situation. Most of the internet has returned, shops and gas stations are opening here and there. There are several dozen Israelis who went to study or work and we are in touch with them,” Koren said.
“We believe that there will be no need to evacuate Israeli citizens. We have good relations with Kazakhstan, which include &#111ngoing political ties and important economic ties. President Tokayev has previously visited Israel.”
