MK Smotrich: Borderline anti-Semitism to target those returning from Uman

MK Bezalel Smotrich has condemned Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s order to proceed extremely harshly with violators of coronavirus regulations who arrive home in Israel after traveling to Uman for Rosh Hashanah, calling Bennett’s statements and orders borderline anti-Semitic.

“After ignoring violations of the regulations in every other sector, the government should stop this borderline anti-Semitic hypocrisy of singling out returnees from Uman,” Smotrich said.

“Just imagine the outcry if it had been Netanyahu or Amir Ohana telling the police which sector to target for stricter enforcement,” he added. “Anyone who breaches the restrictions should of course pay the penalty, but singling out one group and ignoring the violations of others is unacceptable.”
