Rabbi Pesach Lerner, Jonathan Pollard’s rabbi for the past 25 years, told Galei Tzahal this morning that no one really knows what will happen to Pollard in the future, despite rumors that his restrictions on movement will be removed.
“He’s waiting, quite fearfully, to find out what’s going to happen,” the rabbi said. “No one has told him anything.”
Rabbi Lerner added that, “He wants to come to Israel, but his wife is currently undergoing chemotherapy so even if he were permitted, he wouldn’t be able to leave right away. It’s going to take time.”
