President Reuven Rivlin today commemorated the 29th of November, marking the day in 1947 when the UN General Assembly voted 33 to 13, with 10 abstentions and 1 absent, in favor of a resolution that adopted the plan for the partition of Palestine.
Rivlin wrote: “November 29th is a time that always fills me with a sense of solemnity, no matter how many years have passed since that fateful and historic night.
“This year, too, in the midst of tropical epidemics, I still feel the same tremor in the face of the great wonder called the State of Israel. And maybe these days, even more than ever.”
