
A draft memorandum of the new Public Broadcasting Act indicates that the new public broadcasting corporation and other media organizations in Israel will be subject to an 11-member council, according to Kol Yisrael government radio.
The political leadership will appoint the members of the council. One of the clauses in the memorandum specifically states that the chairman of the supervisory board shall be a civil servant, chosen directly by the minister of communications .
